BE THE SOLUTION

BLACK GUNS MATTER FOUNDER MAJ TOURE

You know I always have to bring you the latest and greatest! This past Labor Day weekend, was a great one. It was filled with gratitude, amazement, humility, diversity, and progress. I had the opportunity to attend the 2021 Solutionary Summit that took place in Miami, Florida. Granted, I do live here in Miami, Fl but even more reason to set some time aside to be in attendance. My only regret is not being able to attend the full three days.

What is the Solutionary Summit?

The Solutionary Summit hosted and created by Maj Toure, is a three day event packed with a host of independent thinkers from all backgrounds. There are an array of panels on economics, cultural discussions and political strategy from a powerful lineup of speakers. The panels include Q & A sessions discussing freedom, the attacks on liberty, race relations, effective community outreach and other current topics. The powerful line up of speakers for 2021 included Dr. Boyce Watkins, Kwame Brown, Derrick Grace II, Angela Stanton King, Royce Da 5'9, Brother Rizza Islam, Sonnie Johnson and much more.

Day 1 Welcome Reception & Vendor Exhibit

Upon arriving you definitely felt the energy radiating from the event. There were some great vendors from South Florida in attendance. One vendor that really stood out was the Green Haven Project. Green Haven Project is a non-profit organization with a focus on creating community gardens and sustainable eco-systems in areas that are predominantly known as food deserts. These are urban areas where residents generally reside in low income housing with little to no access to fresh produce within a 10 mile radius. They also focus on providing education on horticulture and nutrition to youth. The food grown is given away to local residents free of charge. Their mission is to empower residents to live a healthy-sustainable life, through fresh locally grown food. It was great to talk to the owners briefly. I really look for to working with them in the near future.

Moving forward, there were great panel discussions underway. The first panel discussion topics were focusing on law enforcement and the community. I have to say it was a much needed discussion. Quite frankly, who hasn't been impacted by the recent events happening across the United States, if not, you were probably sleeping under a rock during the civil unrest and protest. The temperature in the room definitely rose to about 100 degree Celsius.

Following the 1st panel, Dr. Boyce Watkins and his wife took to the stage with a brilliant talk about finance, business, and healing from trauma. He placed an emphasis on trust, trust is very important for success. All the strongest companies today was built on the ability to trust. If you lack the ability to trust because of past trauma, it could have a negative affect on your business. It was just a great way to start day 1.

DAY 2 Real Talk Tour (Sponsored by The American King Foundation)

On day 2, there were also intense conversations about the current administration and the previous administration, and its impact on the black community. The topic of prison reform seem to get the temperature to rise in the room. To get any deeper would not do this conference any justice.

Throughout the entire event, I was able to meet some top public figures making waves on a national scale, worldwide scale, and on all social media platforms. Some even got their social media platforms taken away due to the government's petition to social media companies and mainstream media. I really look forward to working with some of these public figures in the future.

In all, you really had to be there to absorb the wealth of knowledge that was being shared. Again my only regret was not attending the third day, which was the exclusive yacht party! I really look forward to being able to attend the next Solutionary Summit. It looks like it may be in Texas. Take a look at these great photos that were taken!
